GREAT TEA ROAD
The Gribushins, like the Gubkins and the Kuznetsovs were the Russian pioneers of the Great Tea Road. Russian tea merchants were the apotheosis of integrity, discipline, persistence, courage and hard work. Back in the XVIII century, they set up plantations in China, Sri Lanka and India and built incredible logistics chains to deliver tea by land and sea to distribute it all over Russia. They made fortunes on ingenious trade and transformed their homeland through compassion, education, sports, music, and orthodoxy. Memories of the Gribushins and other great tea merchants are found in the names of the schools, orphanages, academies of science, parks, gardens, palaces and orthodox churches in Kungur and Perm in the Urals and many other parts of Russia from St. Petersburg to Crimea and Vladivostok.
